Introduction:
The New York State Consumer Protection Board (CPB) is committed to advocating on behalf of consumers on
energy and telecommunications issues.
The agency is the statutory representative of consumers before State and Federal
regulators of utilities, such as the Public Service Commission and the Federal
Energy Regulatory Commission, where we help ensure that consumers have
affordable, high quality utility services.
The CPB also provides information to consumers regarding energy and
telecommunications services including those using new technologies, and works to
develop pro-consumer policies in these industries.
