Important Recalls

Product safety recalls are issued almost daily and it is imperative that consumers stay informed. The New York State Consumer Protection Board (CPB) closely monitors toy and other juvenile product recalls and updates this website with information as soon as it becomes available. The CPB and the NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets also closely monitor food safety recalls and post alerts as soon as possible.

Together with other State agency partners, the CPB, as the New York State designee to the US Consumer Products Safety Commission, conducts recall effectiveness sweeps to monitor the removal of recalled toys from store shelves. The CPB continues to urge manufacturers to independently test toys before they bring them to market, and calls on retailers to prominently post information about recalled items in their stores and online in a timely fashion.
